movement for 443 bodies in 12 scenes

Movement for 443 bodies in 12 scenes was built page by page, left to right, following a set of self-imposed rules. Each element, what Fletcher calls a body, was drawn with the same ink pen, always beginning with an outline before finding a structure and almost sculpting it from within. Changes are gradual, never abrupt, creating a sense of slow movement across the twelve sheets.

The bodies here move differently from human ones. They begin in a kind of rig on the first page, pass through a sequence of transformation, and arrive on the last page in a rig again. But something has shifted: it is no longer the bodies that form the structure. It is the space around them.

443 is simply the number of bodies counted at the end.
