inside/outside

Inside/outside brings the body into play as a structural element, treating the abandoned former Dee Street Maternity Hospital, Waihōpai Invercargill NZ, as something active rather than a backdrop.

Shown across two side-by-side screens, the hospital's interior and exterior appear together but never fully align. Connections briefly form and dissolve. The body moves between inside and outside, between what is contained and what is exposed, without the two ever quite meeting.
