monstrosity of tiny tumours

Monstrosity of tiny tumours is a solo exhibition developed from Fletcher's own experience of breast cancer, presented at Art Attic Gallery, Waihōpai Invercargill, 27 September to 19 October 2024.

The exhibition brought together a body of work spanning drawing, film, photography, and installation, each piece part of a larger inquiry into what cancer looks like, how it is communicated, and what it means to navigate a diagnosis. Works included spiculated portraits, tumour ballet, script for falling down and getting up, someone will be with you shortly, and underneath the iceberg.

The exhibition extended beyond the gallery with expert talks bridging art, medicine, and cancer during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and was developed in partnership with the Cancer Society of Otago & Southland.
