The body has an inside that no map has charted. Taking a look at the body behind the body, map of internal matter is Fletcher's attempt to draw one, a speculative depiction of the space where physical matter transitions into something less visible, the territory of memory, emotion, and the things not yet put into words.

Made after a diagnosis but before speaking about it, the work carries the particular logic of that moment: the need to navigate something vast and unfamiliar, without yet having the language for it. Drawing became a way of thinking through what could not yet be said.
